Dadh Jhikla is a village in the Palampur tehsil of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh State, India.It is known for its beautiful landscapes and gorgeous looking mountains. It is a part of Gram Panchayat Dadh Jhikla it is near Shree Chamunda Devi Temple. Village is facilitated by bus service with a major bus stop Dadh available within the village rail transport is also available within 5 km radius. Postal service is also available within the village. It did also serve as a major connecting village for nearby villages.
It is famous for personalities like Major Somnath Sharma First receiver of Param Vir Chakra this village was the home of the martyr.
It is mini hill station with stunning views of the Dhauladhar mountains and valleys.
It is having a good arrangements for stay with hotels and a Rest House . It does also have a helipad available within the village.
Notable personalities
[edit]- India's first Param Vir Chakra award recipient, Major Somnath Sharma who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery in the Kashmir operations in November 1947 at Budgam.[1][2][3]
