The Cram Fire is a massive wildfire burning near Madras, Oregon that began on July 13, 2025. The far burned 95,736 acres (38,743 ha).

It is the 2nd largest wildfire in the United States during the 2025 wildfire season.[1] The cause is currently under investigation.[2]

Although the fire was massive in size, it ultimately did not reach megafire status (100k+ acres burned).[3]

Events

The Cram Fire was first reported on July 13, 2025, at around 12:55 pm PST.[2] The fire was fully contained on Jul 27, 2025.[2][4][5]

Impact

Evacuation orders for several very rural areas near the fire were issued.[6][7]

U.S. 97 from mile markers 70 to 76 was closed due to the fure but reopened a few days later on July 15.[6][8]
