Copper Topp is the stage name of Simon Wegrzyn, a British drag performer who competed on series 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Early life

Simon Wegrzyn was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. She attended school in Charlton Kings and then at Cheltenham Bournside School, where he played rugby and attended the Everyman Youth Theatre at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham. Prior to pursuing drag, he worked as an actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre.[3]

Career

Copper Topp competed on series 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She was the third contestant eliminated,[4][5] placing tenth overall.[6] She won the girl group challenge.[6] She placed in the bottom two of the design challenge, and lost a lip sync against Black Peppa.[7][8][9]

Following Drag Race, she released the song "Weirdo"[10] and played Glinda the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz at the Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering.[11][12] In 2023, she announced plans to take a break from drag.[13][14][15] She headlined Cheltenham Pride in 2024.[16]

Copper Topp is from Cheltenham, and uses the pronouns they/them in drag and he/him out of drag.[17]
