Chelvan (Persian: چلوان)[a] is a village in Saman Rural District[4] of the Central District in Saman County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran.

The village is populated by Turkic people.[5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 718 in 199 households, when it was in the former Saman District of Shahrekord County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 778 people in 226 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 740 people in 233 households,[2] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Saman County. The rural district was transferred to the new Central District.[8]
