• Village development committees−VDC of Nepal (1990-2017) — they were formerly the country's local government and 4th-level administrative country subdivision.

• The VDC system was replaced in 2017 by the Gaunpalika—Rural Municipalities of Nepal system as the new 4th level subdivisions of Nepal. There are currently 481 rural municipalities, out of 744 total Nepal Municipalities
