The 423rd Unmanned Systems "Scythian Griffins" Battalion (MUN A5049) is a battalion level military unit of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, concerned with drone warfare using aerial and ground unmanned vehicles. It was established in 2024 and has seen combat during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
History
[edit]It is a part of the "Dronefall" project.[1] On 3 September 2024, a soldier of the Battalion (Purchel Maria Valeriyivna) was killed in combat on the frontlines.[2][3] In February 2025, it was operating on the frontlines in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.[4] On 17 April 2025, it struck and killed Russia personnel.[5] As of May 2025, it was actively engaged in Southern Ukraine campaign.[6] On 13 May 2025, it repelled a major Russian assault destroying personnel and equipment.[7]
