The 2026 AFL Origin Match is a State of Origin game between two representative sides organised by the Australian Football League (AFL).
The match will be played on 14 February 2026 at Optus Stadium in Perth, between Western Australia (the Sandgropers) and Victoria (the "Big V").
It will be WA's first match since 1998 and Victoria's since 2020.[1]
Teams
[edit]On 14 November 2025 the AFL announced the first group of eight players who will compete for the Western Australian and Victorian teams, which included captains Patrick Cripps (Sandgropers) and Marcus Bontempelli (Big V).[2] Nick Daicos (Victoria) and Chad Warner (Western Australia) were announced as participants on 18 November 2025.[3] On 28 November 2025, it was revealed that Kysaiah Pickett successfully campaigned to represent Western Australia in the February 2026 AFL Origin game.[4]
