Following the 2025 Pahalgam attack which happened near Pahalgam in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir protests took place around the world especially in both India and Pakistan.[4][5] These protests focused on a variety of issues related to the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict, and the suspension of the Indus Waters treaty by India.[6][7][8] Indian diaspora members across the globe held peaceful rallies and prayer meetings to express solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.[9][10]

Pakistan

Peshawar

On 7 May 2025, after India launched overnight strikes on Pakistan in retaliation for killing of Hindu tourists and 1 muslim local in Kashmir, protests took place in Peshawar against the Indian attacks.[11]

Karachi

On 7 May, political parties in Pakistan rallied in Karachi against the Indian missile strikes.[12] A protest was also held in Karachi against the strikes on 8 May.[13]

Islamabad

In Islamabad, students and faculty from the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) led a prominent rally on campus.[14][15]

Lahore

A rally was organized by Pakistan Markazi Muslim League in Lahore proceeded from Istanbul Chowk to the Punjab Assembly, with passionate chants of "Pakistan Zindabad" and "Pak Army Zindabad."[16][17][18][19]

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

On 26 April 2025, a mass rally criticising the Indian government was held in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, it was organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (PHJK).[20][21] Another public rally was held in Mirpur to protest against the Indian attacks on Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.[22][23][24]

India

Following the Pahalgam attack, over 500 people protested near the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi.[25][26]

On 25 April 2025, Members of Indian diaspora protested against the Pahalgam terror attack, outside the Pakistan High Commission in London.[27][28][29]

On 3 May, several British Pakistani demonstrators gathered outside the Indian High Commission in London following the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India.[30][31][32] Also, on May 8th British Pakistani protestors came outside of the Indian Embassy in London after the country's missile strikes on Pakistan on May 7th evening.[33][34][31]

France

Members of the Indian diaspora in France gathered in front of the Eiffel Tower to hold an anti-Pakistan protest.[35][36][37]

Germany

The Indian diaspora in Bavaria region of Germany held a peaceful protest march in Munich on May 3rd to condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

The march began at LMU’s Geschwister-Scholl-Platz and concluded at Münchner Freiheit. Nearly 700 people participated in the march in a strong show of solidarity.

Member of German Parliament, Prof. Dr. Hans Theiss and Munich City Councillor Delija Balidemaj, also attended the march. They underscored broad support for the stand against terrorism.[38][39][40]

Boycott

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan described Pakistan as having a "calm and restrained" response to the crisis and expressed support for Islamabad's call for an investigation into the Pahalgam attack.[43][44] Azerbaijan also issued statements in support of Pakistan after India conducted Operation Sindoor.[45] Due to these statements Indian citizens were calling for a boycott of Turkish Airlines and Azerbaijan due to their public support for Pakistan in the face of escalating Indo-Pak tensions.[46][47][48][49]
