Seasons

The 2025–26 PBA season, also referred to as PBA season 50, is the upcoming 50th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The season will begin on October 5, 2025, and will conclude sometime in 2026.

The first activity of the season will be the PBA season 50 draft on September 7.[1] The Philippine Cup will act as the season-opening conference.[2]

50th anniversary events

[edit]

The league's golden anniversary celebrations will continue into this season. The season logo in gold was unveiled on February 10.[3][4] There will also be a reunion of its 50 Greatest Players for the opening ceremony, ten of which were added last season.[5]

The league will also play international games for the first time since the 2019 season. Two games will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on October 25, 2025 while another two will be held in Bahrain on December 17 and 19.[6] Also planned are exhibition games against teams from Japan's B.League.[7]

Teams

[edit]

Changes from previous season:

  • Eastern will return as a guest team for the Commissioner's Cup.[8]
  • A second undisclosed foreign-based guest team has also expressed interest to participate in the Commissioner's Cup.[9]
  • Throughout the previous season, the Terrafirma Dyip was on the process of being sold to a new entity, notably Starhorse Shipping Lines and the Zamboanga Valientes.[10][11] Despite the sale falling through, the league announced on July 18, 2025, that Terrafirma will continue playing through this season.[12][13]
